In scouting, we follow an oath, law, motto, and slogan in order to become better people
The Scout Oath: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
The Scout Law: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
The Scout Motto: Be Prepared.
The Scout Slogan: Do a Good Turn Daily.
We also follow an Outdoor Code.
Outdoor Code: As an American, I will do my best to:
Be clean in my outdoor manners.
Be careful with fire.
Be considerate in the outdoors.
In scouting, we stay in a fun environment. We are in patrols of smaller groups that are created based on our ages. We go on 10 campouts a year and have a blast. We also have Merit Badges to explore different careers. Scouting is a way to have fun while preparing yourself for the future. To get the highest rank of Eagle Scout you have to complete the Eagle required Merit Badges: (a) First Aid, (b) Citizenship in the Community, (c) Citizenship in the Nation, (d) Citizenship in Society, (e) Citizenship in the World, (f) Communication, (g) Cooking, (h) Personal Fitness, (i) Emergency Preparedness OR Lifesaving, (j) Environmental Science OR Sustainability, (k) Personal Management, (l) Swimming OR Hiking OR Cycling, (m) Camping, and (n) Family Life. Over all of them you will learn about the government, camping, the outdoors, as well as more personal stuff, like staying fit and managing money.
